“Black Panther” star Chadwick Boseman has been laid to rest.
According to a death certificate obtained by the Associated Press, Boseman was buried at Welfare Baptist Church Cemetery in Belton, South Carolina, on September 3.
The cemetery is approximately 11 miles from his hometown of Anderson, which held a public memorial a day later.
Multiple organ failure was listed as the cause of death, with the underlying cause attributed to colon cancer.
The death certificate noted that Boseman underwent laparoscopic surgery in March to remove the colon cancer that had metastasized.
Boseman had gone through “countless surgeries and chemotherapy” during his four-year battle with colon cancer, according to a recent statement from his family.
Days after Boseman was buried in South Carolina, his family held a private memorial in Malibu, which was attended by some of his closest friends and co-stars.
Boseman’s widow, Taylor Simone Ledward, who he secretly married shortly before his death, was spotted at the oceanside event in photos published by The Sun.
Other mourners included Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o and Winston Duke. Masks and hand sanitizer were used all around.
Following the star-studded memorial, Lupita wrote on Twitter, “I write these words from a place of hopelessness, to honor a man who had great hope. I am struggling to think and speak about my friend, Chadwick Boseman, in the past tense. It doesn’t make sense. The news of his passing is a punch to my gut every morning.”
“I am aware that we are all mortal, but you come across some people in life that possess a immortal energy, that seem like they have existed before, that are exactly where they are supposed to always be – here! … that seem ageless…. Chadwick was one of those people,” Nyong’o went on. “Chadwick was a man who made the most of his time, and somehow also managed to take his time. I didn’t know him for long, but he had a profound effect on me in the time that I did. When we came together to make Black Panther, I remember being struck by his quiet, powerful presence. He had no airs about him, but there was a higher frequency that he seemed to operate from. You got the sense that he was fully present and also somehow fully aware of things in the distant future. As a result, I noticed that Chadwick never seemed rushed! He commanded his time with ease.”
Boseman died August 28 at his Los Angeles home at the age of 43.
Jill Duggar: Jim Bob Hates the Way I’m Living … But I Don’t Care!
There was a time when Jill Duggar seemed to be more committed to her parents’ ultra-conservative belief system than any of her siblings.
Needless to say, those days are long gone.
These days Jill wears pants, rocks a nose piercing, and generally disregards the ultra-strict dress code she was raised with.
And that’s not all.
As we recently learned, Jill drinks alcohol, which is strictly forbidden in her parents’ household.
She’s able to do all this because she made the wise, wise decision to distance herself from Jim Bob and Michelle once she got old enough to realize that the way she’d been raised was more than just abnormal … it was damaging.
One of the things that led her to this realization was the fact that Derick feuded with Jim Bob so severely that the two families essentially cut ties.
Jill was taught from a young age that a woman should be loyal to her husband no matter what, and so, she sided with Derick and finally gained some perspective on her parents’ bizarre belief system,
Jill discussed her newfound freedom in detail in a recent YouTube video in which she and Derick answered questions from fans.
“I kind of always thought they were cute,” Jill said in response to a query about her nose ring.
“But I think that some of the decisions that we’ve made, even if I liked something before, I wouldn’t have done it because maybe of the backlash that I would get or something, from people close to me or something,” she added.
“I just hate confrontation so maybe I would’ve avoided it.”
We probably don’t need to tell whom Jill is referring to when she mentions people close to her who caused her to question her decisions.
“I think because of the journey we had already been on as a couple that I was more comfortable with decisions that we make as a family,” Jill added.
“Being OK sometimes with other people not being OK is a hard thing, but as long as we knew the decisions were not wrong, they could just be ones that other people might not make for themselves and that’s like, good for us.”
Jill went on to reveal that the first public place she ever wore pants was an amusement park, and she did so only after receiving Derick’s approval.
So she’s not exactly living the life of a modern, liberated woman, but she’s taking steps in the right direction.
Jill stated that’s it’s not always easy going against her family’s belief system, and not all of her siblings are supportive of the path she’s embarked on.
“Are they supportive? Not always,” she said.
“Everyone’s gonna have their opinion about different things. Some of my siblings are probably more likely to have something to say about it than others. Some are more like, ‘Hey, I’m happy for whatever y’all are deciding.'”
It sounds as though Jill has come to accept that living life on her own terms will never be easy, and we suppose that’s true for everyone.
Another sign that she’s no longer interested in accepting every bit of advice and criticism the world has to offer?
Jill turned the comments off on her Q&A video.
Hey, she said she’s not good with confrontation!
Thirty and Thriving! See Photos of ‘Counting On’ Star Jana Duggar’s Style Evolution From 2004 to Now
Like a fine wine, Jana Duggar keeps getting better with age! The gorgeous Counting On star — who turned 30 in January 2020 — has come a long way from boxy schoolgirl uniforms to chic dresses and trendy hats.
That said, she still tends toward the conservative. Back in 2013, mom Michelle Duggar explained the reasoning behind the famous family’s modest dress code.
“After I was born again and became a Christian, I really began to cover up. I felt like the Lord was saying to me, ‘You know what, you probably shouldn’t be wearing that. It’s a little bit low cut, or a little bit too high, you know?’ I just really felt like I needed to obey what God was saying to me first and understand later,” the former cheerleader said during a TLC Q&A. “And then I saw in the scriptures a lot of things that helped me understand why I was feeling uncomfortable with my previous clothing choices.”
It seems like Jana followed in her famous mom’s footsteps, opting to cover up rather than show off. In August 2019, the reality babe was caught Photoshopping two strangers in the background of her photo, who clearly didn’t meet the Duggars‘ modesty standards.
“Wow … [You] altered this photo to make the girls behind you have modest clothing on,” accused one commenter. “I noticed that, too,”‘ responded another. “It’s amazing how the standard for girls [are] ridiculously high while ‘boys will just ‘be boys.’” A third added, “Don’t think people are blind enough to fall for your joke of a Photoshop. If you can’t handle the clothing that other people wear, then stop going out in public. Or at least just crop them out of your picture instead of indirectly shaming and disrespecting them.”
These days, however, Jana appears to have loosened up a bit. She recently rocked heels on the ‘gram and (gasp!) even donned a pair of pants.

See model Jasmine Tookes’ $250K engagement ring from fiancé Juan David Borrero
Jasmine Tookes’ engagement ring is just as beautiful as she is.
The Victoria’s Secret model, 29, announced on Thursday that her boyfriend, Snapchat’s Juan David Borrero, proposed with an enormous 7-carat engagement ring.
“Si, mi amor!,” she captioned a photo of the oval-shaped sparkler. “We’re engaged!!!”
The rock is a custom design by Ritani, according to People, that features a 7-carat oval-cut diamond set in 18K yellow gold with a hidden halo and diamond-embellished prongs. The ring is reportedly valued at more than $250,000.
The couple has been dating since 2016, and Borrero popped the question this week after whisking Tookes away on a surprise trip to Utah, per Vogue. While contemplating a grouping of rocks that formed the letters “WYMM” — short for “will you marry me” — the fairytale proposal took a high-tech spin.
“As I was processing this, I heard a drone flying from above which had a string hanging from it with a small black pouch below. This is how the ring was delivered to him. As the drone approached, he reached into the pouch pulled out the box and went on one knee,” Tookes told Vogue. “I was in complete disbelief and immediately burst into tears because this was something I did not expect. After lots of happy tears, I obviously said yes, and this was honestly the best day I could’ve ever imagined.”
The question that remains is whether fellow model-and-Snapchat-exec couple Miranda Kerr and Evan Spiegel will be maid of honor and best man, respectively, at Tookes and Borrero’s upcoming nuptials in the groom’s hometown in Ecuador.
