Samantha Akkineni extends sympathies to Rakul over report on drugs

Published

on

Last week, Rakul Preet Singh’s name was mentioned by a national news channel in a report on the drugs case pertaining to Rhea Chakraborty. The channel claimed that the Narcotics Control Bureau had been told by Rhea that Rakul and Sara Ali Khan are consumers of drugs.

On Sunday, the NCB categorically denied the report, saying that it had not got any list of actors. This has come to be seen as a moral victory by Rakul Preet’s supporters.

No less a star heroine than Samantha Akkineni has extended support to the ‘Sarrainodu’ actress. She took to Instagram and posted a series of stories in her support. “Don’t judge a book by its cover,” so says one of the stories, with the image of a smiling Rakul accompanying the quote.

#SorryRakul has been floated on social media as a mark of extending an apology to the actress for the “wrong” reportage. The actress has stayed mum on the whole controversy.

How would you feel if someone tried to steal the love of your life? Well, you would be pretty jealous and mad. But not when a gorgeous feline is stealing your partner. This might sound a little weird to some people but it is true. Yes, this story is based on a real incident and it took place in Thailand.

This whole thing got popular after Nasrin Hami, the wife posted a series of pictures of her husband and cat. In the pictures, you can clearly see how possessive the cat is for Nasrin’s husband.

Once the post got noticed by Super Cats, a well-known Facebook page, it got more than thousands of likes. Also, the cat’s name is Jarvis and he is a Scottish Fold cat.

You can scroll down to check out the entire thing.

While telling a few things about her stunning cat, Nasrin said that Jarvis is a good cat and he only eats cat food. Also, he has never ever tried human food, not even fish. She further added “Jarvis is a good cat. He likes to sleep, watch the birds at the window, and play with my husband.”

“Jarvis is always loving and affectionate with my husband and he acts the same way with me and is friendly with everyone who visits our home.”

Nasrin also told us that most of the people on the Internet thought that Jarvis is female. However, she confirmed that Jarvis is, in fact, male. This year on 23rd April, Jarvis has celebrated his 6th birthday. So this cat has been living with the owner for a long time.

Nasrin on her popular Facebook page Baan Nee Tong Mee Meow has also made it clear that Jarvis is not for sale. Nasrin also told us that the cat spends most of his time with her husband. The cat lays on top of him, cuddles him, and does pretty much everything to stay as close of him as possible.

Nasrin even told us that whenever her husband would sit to eat, the cat goes near him to show affection.

While doing a little research about Scottish Fold cats, we found that they are good-natured and very sweet. Also, this cat is a great household pet and get very attached to its owner. (We all can see that, right?)

Mahhi Vij who became a household name after starring as Nakusha in Laagi Tujhse Lagan recently shared his views on the ongoing nepotism and favouritism debate in an HT interview. The actress confessed that nepotism and favouritism are prevalent in both the film and TV industry. The 37-year-old also shared her experiences of losing out on projects only in Bollywood and the small screen.

Mahhi said, “After being signed for films, I got replaced three-four times. These camps in Bollywood are quite active. Even in TV, after everything was done, the day I went to report on the set, I came to know that they’ve taken someone else and started shooting. It happens everywhere. Such incidents are heartbreaking. Par apko mehnat aur kismat ka fal milta hai, mujhe bhi mila hai.”

However, the actress added that biases exist everywhere, in all industries and it’s not just a showbiz thing. She pointed out the fact that if having an advantage was enough, then the industry would only have star kids.

“I come from a middle class, non-film background but had my father been in the industry, it would have definitely helped. If Tara (her daughter) joins the industry tomorrow, she would be at an advantage. But then everything depends on the audiences’ acceptance. There are many star kids who’re sitting at home. If having advantage was enough, the industry would only have star kids,” she added.

For the unversed, Mahhi had a short tryst with Bollywood before making it big on television. The actress took a maternity break in 2018 and is now considering a comeback on TV.

Arjun Mathur on Emmys nomination: Didn’t receive validation on home turf for years

He remembers answering a call from actor friend Sayani Gupta — who jubilantly screamed, “Have you heard the news?” — on Thursday evening. What followed has been a blissful haze of congratulatory calls and messages for Arjun Mathur, who has bagged the Best Actor nomination at the 48th International Emmy Awards for his understated performance in Made in Heaven. “My first reaction to Sayani was, ‘What bad news are you giving me?’ She then asked me to check my messages. I was stunned when I saw the article about my nomination. Initially, there was a sense of disbelief, and it slowly started sinking in.”

In the drama, Mathur infused vulnerability to his character of Karan Mehra, who initially struggles to come out of the closet in a country that had criminalised homosexuality until 2018. The actor says many around him discouraged him from portraying a homosexual character for the third time after I Am (2010) and Migration (2007). “But I followed my heart. When an honour like this comes your way, it validates your work. Often, we seek validation by way of the number of social media followers we have, or by bagging a big-budget Bollywood movie. But the world is bigger than that. I did not receive validation on home turf for years, but I am happier to receive it worldwide.”

The actor is proud to represent India on a global platform. “[The jury at Emmy] looks for human stories and human conflicts,” he says.

Other nominees include Billy Barratt (Responsible Child), Guido Caprino (1994) and Raphael Logam (Impuros)
