Strictly Come Dancing spin-off host Zoe Ball predicts 2020 winner

Published

on

Strictly Come Dancing might still be a few weeks away from its launch show, but that hasn’t stopped Zoe Ball from picking a winner.

Now, Zoe wasn’t begging to make a prediction — quite the opposite, actually! While appearing on The One Show on Friday (September 11), the Strictly: It Takes Two co-host first made an excuse for why she couldn’t choose a favourite.

“I haven’t seen them dance yet,” she explained to One Show hosts Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas.

But now that the full cast of Strictly Come Dancing 2020 have been revealed by the BBC, Alex was insistent on Zoe making an early pick based solely on their star-power.

“Bill Bailey, all the way. Come on Bill, you’ve got this,” Zoe piped up. “Can you imagine when he’s moving, his hair is going to waft around? He’s going to be phenomenal!

“I’m so excited. I think he’s one of the best signings in years.”

The It Takes Two presenter also discussed the line-up in general, admitting she’s never sure until the first dance if they’ll actually be impressive.

“The thing is, you look at that line-up, and I’m thinking Jamie [Laing] is going to be good, and Maisie [Smith] I reckon is going to be quite good, Max [George], probably Caroline [Quentin], I’ve heard is very good. Clara [Amfo], come on girl,” she said.

“But until you actually see them, you just don’t know if you’re going to go, ‘Oh gosh, they’re really not very good. It could get better’. Or, ‘They’re phenomenal!’ So, it’s exciting!”

Strictly Come Dancing will return for an all-new series later this year on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: The Best of Movies will air at 7.30pm on Saturday, September 19.

The Bones fan theory that points fingers at a new Gormogon

Published

By

The Gormogon investigation is the main arc of Bones season 3, and the team spends the season gathering more and more information about the mysterious, ritualistic nature of the killer’s crimes and existence. Before Booth’s SWAT team finally confronts the killer and guns him down in his creepy ceremonial chamber, the viewers find out that there have been more than one Gormogon over the years, and that the current one even had an apprentice — Dr. Brennan’s youthful assistant Zack Addy (Eric Millegan). The Gormogon’s influence looms so large that in season 12, we find out that he also had a second apprentice (James Immekus).

Though the Gormogon ultimately turns out to be a random person, the show drops several hints that the killer might be a character we’ve met before we actually see the cannibal in the flesh. In fact, one very major character is suspicious enough that he’s even arrested as a Gormogon suspect. The man in question is Dr. Lance Sweets (John Francis Daley), a young psychologist who enters the show as the therapist for both Dr. Brennan and Booth. Though the mental health professional turns out to be innocent and even becomes a series regular, some viewers feel that there’s something “off” about the character. What’s more, they feel that said something reeks a lot like a hidden career as a version of the Gormogon.

Corrie star would have preferred I’m a Celebrity’s UK location

Not everyone is going to love I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here‘s brand new location for its 2020 series, but former contestant and Coronation Street star Jennie McAlpine would have much preferred this year’s camp.

Jennie, who finished fourth in 2017’s I’m a Celebrity, spoke to Radio Times about ITV’s decision to move its camp to Gwrych Castle, Abergele in North Wales – and it turns out she’s a bit jealous of this year’s line-up.

Because far from being scared of Australia’s native creepy crawlies, it was the heat that worried her ahead of the show. “[Wales] would have been ideal for me… because I’m a red head so it was a real worry going to Australia,” the Fiz Brown actress admitted.

“That was one of my biggest fears, that it’s going to be too hot.”

She continued: “Everyone else was thinking, ‘Bikini, sunbathing’ and I was dreading it, but actually on our year, it chucked it down all the time. Everyone else was gutted but I was secretly pleased. So Wales would suit me perfectly.”

While I’m a Celebrity‘s move from New South Wales to Wales may have suited Jennie better, previous winner Vicky Pattison recently revealed she thinks the new location will make the experience harder for stars.

Not least because there’ll be “a lot more sheep testicles”.

“I do think they’re going to find that really hard. It’s just going to add another dynamic to it,” she said of the move. “I think I would struggle, because you fire yourself up. You get all excited that you’re going to be in the jungle shower, and in the famous camp.”

2015’s Queen of the Jungle is looking forward to the new series nonetheless. “Now it is going to be really different,” Vicky added. “[And] on the plus side, they’re the first to ever do this, they’re paving the way for something new.”

I’m a Celebrity will return later this year on ITV.
