The Hidden Mickeys in Disney Parks that you won’t find without a plane

Published

on

This particular Hidden Mickey is pretty obvious, so long as you’re in a plane when looking at it. Walking through the grass on Walt Disney World property would yield nothing more than a bunch of solar panels, but a higher altitude tells a different story. This massive solar array is actually arranged in the shape of Mickey’s head, as Salazar graciously provided evidence of on his Instagram page, proving once and for all that the House of Mouse is serious about their “latest initiative in Disney’s long-standing commitment to environmental conservation” (via Orlando Sentinel).

The solar farm is located near Epcot and is referred to by the company as the Walt Disney World Solar Facility, which officially came online in 2016. It’s a product of an agreement between Duke Energy and Walt Disney World that seeks to provide cleaner, renewable energy to the area. This Mickey is roughly 22 acres in size, making it one of the largest Hidden Mickeys in the world, second only to the one in Clermont, Florida that engulfs over 60-acres of forest.

Salt Bae’s restaurant closes for allegedly violating COVID protocols

He’ll have to take this with a grain of salt.

Salt Bae, the Instagram-famous butcher and restaurateur, had his latest eatery shut down on Saturday — and its liquor license indefinitely suspended — just days after opening over citations that include COVID-19 protocol violations, according to the Boston Globe.

The restaurant in question is Nusr-Et Boston, which Salt Bae — a native of Turkey named Nusret Gökçe, who earned his moniker for his semi-sexual seasoning technique — opened on Sept. 18. Appearing to be the hottest table in town, the restaurant attracted large crowds outside on the street, an act in violation of Boston’s advisory against such gatherings, according to Universal Hub.

Salt Bae himself even posted a video to Instagram on Sept. 19 to share the buzz with his 30.3 million followers, which showed a crowd of well-dressed people on the sidewalk eager to get in — some of whom did not wear face masks. The Globe added that similar gatherings continued throughout opening weekend.

Gökçe, 37 — who owns dozens of restaurants around the world, including two in NYC — will have to answer for those violations at a virtual hearing on Tuesday.

A separate virtual hearing will deal with other alleged violations, such as blocked fire exits during a Sept. 23 inspection of the space and having refrigerators and dishwashers set at the wrong temperatures. Citing Boston city records, Fox noted that one of nine violations had been corrected.

In 2018, Gökçe ran into issues with health codes over salting diners’ meals and slicing meat with bare hands in the weeks after opening a New York City location. (He later used gloves to season.) Several months later, a former waiter sued him in federal court, charging Gökçe with withholding tips from his staffers.

Meanwhile, others online are talking about the celebrity chef for an entirely different reason: A TikTok of a woman twerking for Gökçe in the new Nusr-Et Boston restaurant has gone viral. In the video, the unidentified woman is seen dancing as Gökçe films her. Shortly after, a man enters the restaurant in a rage as the woman runs off. Twitter users were divided over the man’s reaction, with many saying the man’s anger was alarming.

Taylor Swift’s Folklore Just Netted The Artist Her Latest Career Milestone

Published

By

Earlier this year, Taylor Swift reached a big milestone with her surprise eighth album, Folklore, when she became the first artist in history to debut at the top of both the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and the Billboard 200 album chart. And the accolades keep coming.

On Sunday (September 27), Billboard reported that Folklore has once again become the No. 1 album in the country, replacing YoungBoy Never Broke Again’s Top. In once again assuming the top spot, Folklore celebrates its seventh nonconsecutive week at No. 1 — and Swift herself has bypassed Whitney Houston to become the female artist with the most cumulative weeks at No. 1, across all of her albums. Swift has now spent 47 weeks at the top of the chart.

Billboard notes how Swift’s strategy of sending signing CD copies of Folklore to smaller, independent record shops — as well as her offering them through her own online store — has paid off. She’s also kept busy promoting Folklore even during a time when the live-music industry is effectively shut down; she performed “Betty” at the 2020 Academy of Country Music Awards on September 16 and has released “chapters” of songs from the album on social platforms, creating another kind of listening experience.

Swift’s first No. 1 album was 2008’s Fearless, and each subsequent LP she released hit No. 1 as well. Her new running total of 47 weeks at No. 1 across her discography beats Houston’s previous record of 46, which she had held since 1987.

Billboard points out that Adele is right behind at 34 weeks — and even despite fans’ hopes that a new Adele LP might be in the cards for 2020, the singer shared on Instagram in August that she had “no idea” when her next album might drop.

Andy Cohen Responds to Tamra Judge’s ‘Ageist’ Claim, Answers Brandi Glanville’s Sons Pleas to Bring Her Back to ‘RHOBH’

Flipping their roles! Brandi Glanville put Andy Cohen in the hot seat during a candid conversation about the Housewives on her podcast.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills personality, 47, first asked Cohen, 52, about Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge’s exits from The Real Housewives of Orange County.

“I felt like [Vicki and Tamra] told their entire stories and they both said that [you are] an ageist,” Glanville said on a recent episode of her “Brandi Glanville Unfiltered” podcast. “They said you were going against them because they got too old.” (Back in June, Judge, 53, claimed Bravo wants “younger Housewives” on the “Behind the Velvet Rope” podcast.)

The Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen host, however, was quick to point out that Real Housewives of New York City’s Ramona Singer, who is 63, is older than Gunvalson, 58.

“If you look at the women on our shows, there are a lot of women that are really thriving in their 50s and late 50s. Yeah, no. I don’t care for that [remark],” he responded, noting that Gunvalson “to this day makes me absolutely laugh.”

He continued: “We just felt that the show needed some new air. We needed to air it out and see where it went. These two women were so identifiable with it and will always be. I hope they will someday be back in some capacity.”

Cohen went on to tease season 15 of RHOC, the first without Gunvalson. (Judge, for her part, joined during season 3.)

“COVID kind of hit us but what I think people will see when the show begins is there’s something about Orange County. They are women dealing with some real serious stuff in their lives,” he said. “When the season starts, there is something that really grounds it to the core of what Orange County always was about.”

Glanville also asked Cohen about RHONY alum Carole Radziwill, who he was friendly with before she joined the cast in 2011.

“We were in each other’s circle for years,” he said about the former journalist, who left the show after six seasons in 2018. “We didn’t talk on the phone. We didn’t email but I think we had genuine [love] for each other.”

Radziwill, 57, and Cohen got heated during her final reunion, with the What Remains author accusing the host of being “scared” of Bethenny Frankel.

“I think she’s angry toward the show and me and she felt like I was up Bethenny’s ass,” Cohen told Glanville.

The Drinking and Tweeting author, who was last a full-time cast member on RHOBH during season 5, went on to ask Cohen about her potential return to the show. The producer noted that Glanville, who has made guest appearances on the franchise during seasons 6, 9 and 10, is “as close to being back” as she’s been “in a long time,” but wouldn’t commit to an answer.

“You’re not exactly friends with any of the women,” Cohen said after telling Glanville she isn’t “on an island” like she once was.

After Glanville noted that she’s friends with Kyle and Kim Richards, she enlisted her sons Mason, 17, and Jake, 13, whom she shares with ex Eddie Cibrian, to help her get her diamond back.

“I was wondering if you would do the right thing and give my mom her job back like you said you would because she was like the main focus of the whole season,” Jake said in a video to Cohen, referring to Glanville’s season 10 claims that she had an affair with Denise Richards. “And like get her money back so we can move out of this place and get her what she deserves.”

Glanville’s eldest son, meanwhile, joined the episode to reveal that Cibrian, 47, would let them film the show this time around.

“You kind of milked her for everything this season and she hasn’t gotten half as much as the other Housewives. … I mean she’s the best woman I’ve ever met,” Mason added.

Cohen, who was certainly intrigued by Glanville’s kids being allowed to film the series, concluded, “That’s a discussion!”
