The Mandalorian Season 2: New trailer & everything we know so far

The Mandalorian Season 2 trailer has landed, promising more of what fans loved from the opening installment while leaving room for speculation about what’s to come.

It’s the news Star Wars fans have been eagerly anticipating—the official trailer for The Mandalorian Season 2 was released online and immediately went viral.

The show’s debut season was the first original content to stream on Disney Plus and became a massive success for the platform.

While the storytelling, visuals, and the mysterious protagonist were all massive draws, fans gravitated strongly to an unexpected character. The Child, a baby from the same species as Yoda—and unofficially dubbed Baby Yoda by fans—was revealed to be the Mandalorian’s mark in the opening episode, but eventually became the bounty hunter’s charge.

By the end of the opening season, the Mandalorian and the Child had become a clan of two. From the trailer for The Mandalorian Season 2, it looks like the pair will be going on new adventures together.

Fans of the show were unsurprisingly delighted to see the trailer, and that the bond between the Mandalorian—whose name was revealed to be Din Djarin in the Season 1 finale—and Baby Yoda remains intact. Pedro Pascal, who plays the Mandalorian, shared his excitement about the trailer and the duo’s return on Twitter.

Directors confirmed for The Mandalorian Season 2 include Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni—both of whom act as executive producers—Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa, Carl Weathers, Peyton Reed, and Robert Rodriguez.

It is a bit disappointing to see only one woman director in the list—Deborah Chow, who directed two of the best episodes of the season, will not be returning, presumably, because she is working on the Obi-Wan Kenobi show.

We break down the trailer and what fans can expect to see from the second season below.

The Mandalorian Season 2: What Do We Know So Far?

It looks like The Mandalorian Season 2 will focus on Din Djarin trying to get the Child to his home. Unfortunately, neither he nor the fans, know where the child’s home is. Yoda’s species and planet of origin have famously never been named by Star Wars creator, George Lucas. Perhaps the show will finally get to the bottom of that mystery?

Interestingly, the Armourer—one of the only Mandalorians to survive a massacre in Season 1—mentions Jedi sorcerers to Djarin in the trailer. The show is set after the events of Return of the Jedi, by which time the Jedi had already passed into legend. Luke Skywalker was the only trained Jedi around—but if a significant enough time has passed, the Jedi the Armourer is referring to could be Luke’s proteges, who were eventually killed by Kylo Ren.

On the other hand, the Jedi could refer to Ahsoka Tano—who never completed her Jedi training to become a Jedi Master due to a plot by Chancellor Palpatine. However, Ahsoka was an integral part of the Rebellion and was seen at the end of Star Wars: Rebels joining Sabine Wren on the search for the lost Jedi, Ezra Bridger.

Ahsoka has been rumored to appear in The Mandalorian Season 2 for months, with many surmising that Rosario Dawson had been cast in the role. If that rumor does come true, the Jedi that Djarin and the Child will encounter could very well be Ahsoka.

Other notable moments from the trailer include shots of X-Wings, seemingly chasing the Mandalorian’s ship. X-Wings were Rebellion battle vessels and there is no love lost between that group and bounty hunters, which could explain why they are antagonists during this season.

The Mandalorian Season 2: Who Can We Expect to See?

In the trailer, we see the return of the Mandalorian’s allies, Greef Karga (Carl Weathers), and Cara Dune (Gina Carano).

Though he didn’t appear in the trailer, Giancarlo Esposito’s Moff Gideon is set to return for the second installment, according to official production stills shared online.

Moff Gideon’s presence could be a clue to the nature of a mysterious character appearing in the trailer. Many have speculated about which character WWE’s Sasha Banks is playing in The Mandalorian Season 2.

Some have been wondering if she is Ahsoka—her hood looks like a dark version of the one Ahsoka was wearing in the Rebels finale. But she is sans Ahsoka’s distinctive orange skin and white markings. However, she could be the aforementioned Sabine.

It isn’t a huge leap to imagine Sabine appearing on the show—she is a Mandalorian and the wielder of the Darksaber, which she bequeathed to her mother in Rebels.

Following the end of that show, the Darksaber was next seen in Moff Gideon’s hands. Sabine could be on a mission to return the weapon that is rightfully her people’s, and may eventually join up with Djarin. We also know from Rebels that Sabine and Ahsoka are on a mission together, so it is plausible that they will appear together on the show.

Of course, this is all speculation and we fans will likely have to wait for the show to air before any theories can be confirmed.

Actors we have yet to see but who have been confirmed include Temeura Morrison, who will be joining the show as Boba Fett, and Timothy Olyphant, who will be playing an unspecified role in the second instalment.

According to TVLine, Katee Sackhoff—best known for Battlestar Galactica and The Flash—will be appearing as Bo-Katan Kryze, and The Terminator actor Michael Biehn will be playing a bounty hunter.

The Mandalorian Season 2: What’s the controversy?

Despite the general sense of excitement about The Mandalorian Season 2 trailer, it comes on the back of a significant amount of controversy surrounding the show.

Though the nature of Dawson’s involvement in the show has yet to be confirmed, her family has been accused of transphobic violence, and the matter is still ongoing.

More recently, Cara Dune actor Gina Carano was called out for controversial tweets about mask-wearing during the pandemic and the way she has handled adding pronouns to her Twitter bio—even after a conversation with Pascal about the importance of including them.

Carano, who did not have her pronouns in her bio, added ‘beep/bop/boop’—an act that fans felt was transphobic. Carano denies the claims, but her actions do come across as mocking anyone who deals with being misgendered and faces physical violence as a result. Many have questioned why she felt the need to add anything instead of just keeping her pronouns blank.

With Season 2 already on its way and a third installment in the works, it is likely that Dawson and Carano will continue to be involved in the show. Hopefully, they will address the controversies soon and put fans at ease.

Until then, at least fans have Baby Yoda and his dad, Mando, to look forward to seeing.

At Least One Twitter Account Has Bbeen Tracking Coronavirus Deaths

At least one Twitter account has been tracking coronavirus deaths among a specific market — health care workers who’ve lost their lives into the COVID-19 virus.

This Twitter account post blurbs about those healthcare workers,

which makes the account a regularly updated memorial to victims of this coronavirus pandemic.

The faces are so gruesome.

As you scroll through the Twitter account that belongs to @CTZebra, the name of which makes clear the report is supposed to honor”US HCWs Missing to COVID19,”

you see one face after a second looking straight back at you —

faces of the lives lost into the dreadful coronavirus pandemic that is hammered the entire world.

They belong to people like Marie Brumbaugh. Each health care worker lost to COVID-19,

such as her, gets a blurb on this Twitter accounts that tracks coronavirus deaths,

where we learn that Brumbaugh was a 40-year-old medical assistant in Branson, Missouri.

She left behind three kids, the youngest of whom is just ten years old.

Meanwhile, just below Brumbaugh’s blurb, the next is honoring Dr. Bruce Greene

a 61-year-old psychiatrist from West Orange, New Jersey, who died of COVID-19 back in mid-April.

According to @CTZebra, Greene was a snorkeler and voracious writer who was also a trivia buff and avid collector of PEZ dispensers.

“Kids intuitively enjoyed him,” his short tribute continues.

“He owned relaxed confidence”

This is the face of a tragedy that tends to get lost in the crush of news coverage center on coronavirus trends, updates, vaccine developments,

and data related to the virus.

The team at Johns Hopkins University, for example,

is to be praise for its intensive work it will by making available a regularly update tabulation of all coronavirus data,

such as the numbers of cases and deaths in america and around the world.

That info is depend upon by everyone from journalists to governmental leaders monitoring the pandemic.

One shortcoming of the info you have to admit is that it is just that — info,

and therefore, it doesn’t convey a sense of the humanity behind the numbers.

Each of the lives lost, families wrecked, and communities irrevocably affected with this huge public health catastrophe.

As of the time of the writing, the Johns Hopkins statistics indicates that,

to-date, over 6.9 million instances of COVID-19 have been recorded in the united states.

More than 201,000 people have died from the virus —

a number that tragically includes a lot of healthcare business, employees.

Individuals who took risks and made the sacrifices which we do not have to.

The Third Day Episode 2: Cast Info & Ending Explained

The Third Day is a mystery-drama television miniseries which is directed by Marc Munden and Philippa Lowthorpe. The first episode of the series was premiered on September 14, 2020, on HBO.

The series was liked by quite a lot of people but some people found it a little too complicated. To ease up the things for you, The Third Day is divided broadly into two parts “the summers” and “the winters”.

A man and a woman make different journeys to a peculiar island British island of Osea.

The Cast Of The Third Day

  • Jude Law as Sam
  • Katherine Waterston as Jess
  • John Dagleish as Larry
  • Jessie Ross as Epona
  • Mark Lewis Jones as Jason
  • Paddy Considine as Mr. Martin
  • Richard Bremmer as Old man
  • Emily Watson as Mrs. Martin
  • Naomie Harris as Helen
  • Nico Parker as Ellie
  • Borje Lundberg as Professor Mimir

The Ending Of Episode 2 Explained

It is difficult to perceive what happens next in the Third Day at any time. Sam has come out to be an untrustworthy narrator; he constantly keeps on seeing things that don’t exist.

With the end of each episode, we are left with a dreamlike vision which leaves us more skeptical about the show. We have seen constantly on the show that Sam has hallucinating problems due to the drugs he takes. So, this could also be a hallucination.

At the end of episode 2 of the Third Day, we saw that nervous Mrs. Martin came to Sam and told him to leave the place as soon as possible because Larry and his friends were coming for him. This could be possible because Larry saw Sam with Epona which didn’t make him happy.

Moreover, Larry wasn’t very pleased with the arrival of Sam on the island. Mrs. Martin led Sam towards the escape but left him in the middle of a forest which wasn’t quite convincing for us.

So, with all of this, we concluded that Sam might be hallucinating again due to the drugs he consumed. Besides, the outline of Episode 3 of the show pretty much shows that Sam is still alive but he could die in Episode 3 because that would be the last part of Season 1 of The Third Day. So, let’s wait and what he has in his face.
