‘The Mighty Ducks’ Star Shaun Weiss Has Been Sober From Meth For More Than 230 Days, Receives New Teeth As A Gift

Shaun Weiss, a New Jersey-born child star primarily known for his role as Greg Goldberg in The Mighty Ducks is 42 now and hasn’t been making movies for a while.

He was arrested earlier this year for allegedly breaking into a man’s garage while high on meth.

“Weiss forced entry to gain access into the vehicle by shattering a window,” police said in a statement. “Officers noticed shattered glass on the ground and observed that the passenger window to the vehicle was broken.”

Since then, Drew Gallagher, a friend of Weiss, has been helping the former actor get back on his feet. And they’re certainly making progress — Weiss has been sober for over 230 days.

“There’s not a blameless Shaun Weiss here, he is definitely to blame for a lot of stupid s— he does,” Gallagher told People earlier this year. “But if you were to spend any time with him, you would have a drastically more compassionate understanding of what he was about.”

Gallagher said that his buddy needs medical and psychiatric attention. “He’s sick, he’s mentally ill. He’s just sick and everybody gives up on him.”

Gallagher started a GoFundMe to raise money to help Weiss after his arrest. Since its launch in January, the campaign has raised over $16,000.

One of the main things Weiss needed was dental treatment, as meth abuse had destroyed his teeth. But after hearing about his situation, LA-based Dr. Gabe Rosenthal offered his services free of charge.

“He’s just a great guy,” Dr. Gabe told Page Six of Weiss. “We mesh really well.”

“He’s such a good guy, such a sweetheart. He’s putting his weight back on. He is so much more confident. He’s ready to go. He feels better. Every time I see him, he gains a few more pounds.”

“His face is filling out,” Dr. Gabe added. “He’s smiling like crazy now.”

In July, Weiss sat in Dr. Gabe’s chair to mend broken root tips, clear infections, and remove broken teeth. He then got implants followed by teeth, which are made by the same porcelain as celebrity-loved veneers. He underwent 4 oral surgeries so far, but there’s more to come.

Dr. Gabe hopes to finish his work with Weiss in early 2021. The entire process start-to-finish would’ve cost about $80,000 but since Rosenthal donated his dental services for free, the money from the GoFundMe is said to be going towards other expenses.

“(It’s) allowed Shaun to use the GoFundMe funds to pay rent at his sober-living as well as buy some groceries,” Gallagher wrote an update. “He’s even got an inexpensive laptop so he can access the Internet.”

Tessa Blanchard Talks Hiatus From Pro Wrestling

Published

After taking off much of 2020, Tessa Blanchard returned to the ring earlier this month for Warrior Wrestling, losing the Warrior Wrestling Women’s Championship to Kylie Rae.

Going back to January, Blanchard was called out by numerous women’s wrestlers at her backstage behavior over the years, most notably she was accused of saying a racial slur to La Rosa Negra back in 2017 during a tour in Japan. Blanchard has denied that accusation since the beginning. You can read more on that story here.

Shortly after the social media backlash, Blanchard defeated Sami Callihan to win the Impact World Championship — the first woman to hold the title — at Impact Hard to Kill.

The COVID-19 pandemic then hit, and Blanchard was stuck in Mexico with her then fiance, and fellow wrestler, Daga. Impact Wrestling released Blanchard in June due to her reportedly not sending promos in, nor could the two sides agree to how Blanchard could return and drop the title. Her contract was reportedly set to expire that summer anyways.

Earlier today, Blanchard commented on social media about being away from wrestling to focus on her wedding and honeymoon. Tessa also touched on the previous allegations mentioned above: “Racist? That’s not me, that’s never been me.”

“I’ve been away for a while, the main reason for that is to focus on my wedding & honeymoon,” Blanchard wrote. “The past few months I’ve gotten back to the basics & been focusing on the relationships I have with family, friends & myself. The point of this post is because I’m taking back the control of my narrative. I’ve had people weigh in on what I should do, what I should say, what interview to do, where to go…now, I want to listen to what I want and what’s in my heart.

“I am so blessed in so many areas of my life & I am so grateful to have such strong people in my life. & I regained control of that mindset…that I know who I am. At the end of every day I can look in the mirror and say ‘I know that woman, I like that woman, I love who that woman is becoming and what she’s capable of,’ that’s all I need. Racist? That’s not me, that’s never been me, I don’t have a history of being that way, I don’t have a history of using that language & that’s the end of it, it’s just not who I am & I’m tired of being called & my family seeing me be called something so hateful.

“Who I am is a woman that cares deeply about my passion and putting in work. Who I am is a woman that gives 110% at whatever she does whether it was waiting tables, extra curricular school work, the next workout, or in the ring. Who I am is a woman that prefers to be viewed as tough as nails instead of having any form of weakness. Who I am is a woman completely driven by my passion & what I believe God has for me in life. Even with those little details about me, at the end of the day none of it matters…we are each responsible for taking control of our own lives. I’m taking back control of mine. [#SeeYouSoon]”

As noted, earlier this month Blanchard’s image was used in a WWE 2K Battlegrounds video game, but that image has since been removed.

If Tyler, the Creator Can Vote for the Very First Time, Then So Can You

In a new self-made PSA posted to Twitter and Instagram Monday, Tyler, the Creator encourages his fans to go the polls, offering his perspective as someone who has never voted before in his life … until now. “Look, I know I’m the last person y’all should ever take advice from, but I’m reiterating what everyone else is saying,” the Grammy-winning IGOR singer begins. “Please, please, if you are young, and your fucking back don’t hurt, go to them polls, and cast a fucking vote.”

“I didn’t give a fuck about none of this shit, just like a lot of y’all,” continues the singer. “This is actually going to be my first time voting, but I see the light.” As Tyler explains, many people feel a sense of hopelessness about the effectiveness of voting in general. However, he points out, there are way more issues and elected officials than just the president of the United States. (Though, of course, they can vote for POTUS, too!)

“A lot of y’all are gonna be like, ‘My vote doesn’t matter, and they’re gonna pick who they want,’” he says. “Yeah, you weird-ass n—, keep that up. Y’all was posting black squares, and protesting from y’all phone, and ‘rights this’ and cancelling everybody. N—, pull up! Y’all want a new DA? Pull up! Y’all want all these rights and shit? Then fucking pull up!”

“The shit that I actually give a fuck about is more art in schools and more music classes in schools, and then changing the curriculum,” Tyler continues. “They’ve had the same curriculum, fuck, since 1442, judging everybody on the same shit. I have female friends who need certain things, and I like being able to fuck on and marry whoever the fuck I want at any given moment. And if we want to keep some of those options, then we have to start somewhere.” You can watch the rest of his video below.
