‘Call Me By Your Name’ Director Defends Casting Straight Actors in Gay Roles

In a new interview, Luca Guadagnino, director of the Oscar-nominated Call Me By Your Name, defended casting straight actors Timothee Chalamet and Armie Hammer in gay roles, and his decision to forgo full-frontal nudity.

Guadagnino responded to the latter when reminded of criticism from screenwriter James Ivory, saying Ivory was “tone deaf” about how to tell the story.

ICYMI: ‘Call Me By Your Name’ Director Says Timothée Chalamet, Armie Hammer on Board for Sequel

Said Guadagnino: “Nobody who knows my work can say to me with a straight face that I’m shy about male or female or other gendered nudity. So, the critique or note that James gave was, in a way, devoid of pragmatism or a relationship with the movie itself. My question to him is does this movie need full frontal male nudity. I don’t think so. It doesn’t.”

“Maybe the script which he wrote – which was a draft which then I reworked with my editor – was compelled to tell this story through the perspective of a very expositionary kind of nudity,” Guadagnino added. “But that would have been his idea of the movie which, unfortunately, we haven’t seen… so I don’t know.”

As for casting straight actors in gay roles, Guadagnino replied, “I honestly don’t believe I have the right to decide whether an actor is straight or not. Who am I to know what somebody is thinking of himself or herself within themselves.”

Guadagnino added that he doesn’t ask actors “to swear on their sexuality, identities, and desires” before casting them.

“If I have to cast what people think is the real thing for a role, I wouldn’t be able to cast,” the director continued. “I cannot cast a gay man to play Oliver. I have to cast Oliver to play Oliver because the identities of gay men are as multiple as the flowers in the realm of earth. So, there is not a gay identity. One person who is gay is completely different to another person who is gay.”

“The beauty of acting is the possibility of the creation and embodiment of new selves through the art of acting.”

Every MCU Character Returning In Marvel’s WandaVision.Several Marvel characters are returning for WandaVision, the primary TV show from Marvel Studios!!

Several Marvel characters are returning for WandaVision, the primary TV show from Marvel Studios. The upcoming Disney+ series are centered on the two titular Avengers from Marvel Comics, Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch, and Vision, but other characters from past MCU movies are going to be collaborating within the action still.

mijn groupons WandaVision is claimed to be Marvel’s wildest project, and its very nature opens the door for the return of diverse MCU favorites.

The others that are confirmed, however, are mostly familiar faces. And it’s worth noting that some are unexpected additions who haven’t any obvious connections to Scarlet Witch and Vision in Marvel, Comics, or within the Marvel Cinematic Universe ukash.

When Smart Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) revived everyone killed by Thanos’ snap, Scarlet Witch was among the heroes who battled him within the final battle. Within the comics, a depressed or stressed-out Wanda tends to lose control, and cause chaos, and this might be what ultimately happens to Wanda within the beginning of the show. Fueled by her desire to work out her lover again, she may have unknowingly created a reality for herself where she gets to possess a traditional, happy life with Vision. Wanda may need to depend on Agatha Harkness or a distinct character to rein in her powers.

win iphone x The MCU lost plenty of its heroes in Avengers: Infinity War, but there was always hope that they’d be brought back in Endgame if the snap can be reversed. However, one or two of those characters were directly killed by Thanos within the movie, which meant that their deaths can be permanent – one among them was Vision. He tried to create the last word sacrifice to prevent the Mad Titan from assembling the Infinity Gauntlet but was stopped by the Time Stone. It may be that he’ll be resurrected by Wanda’s mysterious abilities. After all, she has been known to will people back to existence within the comics. Furthermore, a scene within the middle of WandaVision’s trailer, between Vision, and Hahn’s character, indicates that he might not know he’s imagined to be dead.

Interestingly, Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) has nothing to try to with Scarlet Witch and Vision but is going to be appearing within the show regardless. Within the comics, Woo is an experienced SHIELD agent, but the MCU turned him into a government agent whose primary purpose was to supply comedic relief in Ant-Man and therefore, the Wasp. He’ll be back in WandaVision, this point within the employ of SWORD, a company dedicated to protecting the planet from extraterrestrial threats.

Woo was the sole returning MCU character not to have a presence within the trailer, so little is understood about what he’ll be doing with SWORD. For the foremost part, Marvel has kept its plans for SWORD tightly covert. It can be that, after founding SWORD, Fury sought out those that have experiences with strange and abnormal occurrences, which may be what led to Jimmy Woo joining the group

Set photos have indicated that Monica is also a member of SWORD. It can be that Monica made it into the place where Scarlet Witch and Vision now live and was expelled by an unseen force. This has led to speculation that the events going down within the show will involve her receiving her magazine powers. Wanda’s powers could even activate her latent abilities. If so, WandaVision can be found Monica being a full-fledged superhero in Captain Marvel 2 intrusion zone 51.

Angela Deem seemingly confirms 90 Day Fiance spinoff with Michael Ilesanmi

Are Angela and Michael getting their own 90 Day Fiance spin-off show?
Angela hints more reality TV stints are in store for her and Michael. Pic credit: TLC

Hot on the heels of the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Tell-All drama, Angela Deem has seemingly confirmed a 90 Day Fiance spinoff with Michael Ilesanmi.

The husband and wife duo have had their fair share of drama since premiering on Season 2 of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days. Their turbulent relationship has kept fans guessing what is coming next for Angela and Michael.

Right now, they are living apart. Angela is in the United States, while Michael is living in Nigeria. The coronavirus pandemic has prolonged Michael securing a spousal visa to allow him to come to the United States.

The current health climate means it could be next year before the couple is reunited. So if that is the case, what would the spinoff entail?

What has been said about the spinoff?

Angela used Instagram Stories to hint she and her husband are getting their own reality TV show. No, she didn’t use words but rather reposted a link to the Instagram account, @90daythemelanatedway, which had a YouTube video about the news.

The video footage claims President and General Manager of TLC, Howard Lee, is looking to add a couple more 90 Day Fiance spinoffs to its schedule.

It is a no brainer for TLC to expand the franchise. The 90 Day Fiance shows are a mega-hit for TLC.

There are currently ten spinoffs from the original 90 Day Fiance. While most shows focus on various couples, Darcey & Stacey follows the lives of identical twin sisters Stacey and Darcey Silva, who appeared on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days.

Why Angela and Michael should get their own show

Fans can agree whether you like her or hate Angela is quite entertaining. The dynamic between her and Michael is engaging. Even though they argued through most of part one of the Tell-All, Michael also said he still wants to have kids with Angela.

There is speculation a spin-off would feature Mama June’s trainer, Natasha Fett. Angela was recently spotted in Los Angeles with her manager, Gina Rodriquez, no not the Jane the Virgin actress, and Natasha.

It would be entertaining to see Angela do a Mama June kind of From Not To Hot show, but fans really want to see Angela’s relationship with Michael too. The spin-off would need to find a way to incorporate him, even if they are not living together.

Either Angela Deem and Michael Ilesanmi are getting their own 90 Day Fiance spinoff, or she is messing with fans. What do you think?

90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? airs Sundays at 8/7c on TLC.

Scream 5: The upcoming sequel to the Scream Saga is to continue with production even though some of the crew members have been tested Coronavirus positive.

It was earlier rumored that Scream 5 has stop production when the crew members’ medical situation came to light. However, these rumors have been put to bed by the recent article posted by Deadline.

Why is Scream 5 continuing with production?

One must understand that until the vaccine for coronavirus emerges, it is very likely that some of the members of a film get infected with the virus.

As none of the COVID-19 infected patients were in the ‘primary pod’ which includes―leading actors, director, assistant director, and director of photography; the film resumed with production.

If on any film set, one of the members from the ‘inner circle’ gets tested corona positive then the film would definitely have to halt the shooting.

The same happened when Robert Pattinson was tested positive from the virus. He is playing the titular role in the Warner Bros. upcoming movie “The Batman”. Now, the filmi has resumed production.

When is Scream 5 releasing?

The movie is slated to release on January 14, 2022. And, and would indefinitely be able to launch on the set date as no delay further in production has taken place.

Scream 5

Who stars in the upcoming sequel of Scream?

Neve Campbell returns as Sidney Prescott with Friends star Courtney Cox, and David Arquette.

The movie would include new blood Jack Quaid, Jenna Ortega, Dylan Minnette, Mikey Madison, and Mason Gooding.

The directors Matt Bettineli- Oplin and Tyler Gillett also return for Scream 5, but this time without Cavern Helm. The latter had passed away in 2015 due to a brain tumor.

Radio Silence and Project Entertainment are production houses of the series. It is distributed by Paramount Pictures.

The three crewmembers that had tested positive would be immediately quarantined and contact tracing would also be practiced.
