Zendaya Wore a Dress As Old As She Is to the Green Carpet Fashion Awards

Published

on

Zendaya has not let a global pandemic and award shows conducted over Zoom stop her from serving up major looks on the remote red carpet.

After becoming the youngest woman to ever win an Emmy for Best Actress in a Drama while wearing a custom Giorgio Armani Privé gown, the Euphoria star continued her style parade at the Green Carpet Fashion Awards on Saturday where she received the Visionary Award while clothed in a vintage dress as old as she is. For the occasion, the actress chose a chocolate brown silk dress with matching beaded bodice from Versace’s Fall 1996 collection, the same year she was born.

Her stylist Law Roach shared a video of Zendaya posing in the archival outfit, which he paired with dangly silver Bulgari earrings, a matching brown headband, and heels. “I think she’s the prettiest girl in the world….,” he wrote in the caption. “@zendaya for the Green Carpet Fashion Awards wearing @bulgari and Archive @versace from Fall 1996 collection… the same year she was born!!!”

The choice of gown even got the stamp of approval from Naomi Campbell who originally modeled that collection on the runway over two decades ago. “Beautiful!! Remember this dress and collection well,” the supermodel commented with a string of heart emojis. Roach replied, “I hope Gianni would approve!” referring to the original designer of the brand, Gianni Versace, who was murdered in 1997.

During her acceptance speech for the Visionary Award, Zendaya said “Fashion has always truly lived in my heart ever since I was very, very young. I love clothes and I think it’s so much more than just clothes. I think it’s an art, it’s emotion, it’s feeling — and to me, through clothes, I’ve been able to find myself and be more confident in myself as a young woman growing into my womanhood.”

She continued, “Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of being able to showcase other and different types of beauties through the work that I get to do and being in more positions of power, more creative positions. I hope to continue to able to do that until this industry really does reflect the beauty that I get to see every day.”

Why an ‘active’ approach to risk modelling is key to navigating markets today

Published

Whether investors are aiming for a cautious approach or a riskier investment profile with the potential for higher returns, Architas’ Blended Fund range is designed to match a range of investor risk appetites. And like many asset managers, Architas predominantly uses two approaches to define asset allocation within the five risk bands used in the Blended Range – strategic and tactical.

Whilst risk model provider EValue’s quantitative approach to asset allocation takes into account the long-term performance of different asset classes and the likely future performance given current valuations, along with long-term measures of volatility and correlations with other asset classes. Yet as with most systems of its kinds, EValue focuses on the long term; it is unable to analyse short-term market movements and fluctuations. So whilst it would have seen that in Q1 2020 markets fell by a record percentage before rebounding, it will not be able to factor in the cost of the coronavirus and lockdown and its impact on markets. Similarly, it is not able to consider ongoing Brexit woes, geo-political trade wars or the outcome of the US election in 2020.
