A Trump supporter identified as Robert Brissette was filmed taunting Black Lives Matter supporters with homophobic slurs before violently coughing on them at a gas station in Kanab, Utah.

Screams Brissette in the video: “You’re the one talking sh*t to me. Everybody knows who I am. My name is Robert Brissette. Find me on Facebook. I hate all you Democrats. Black lives don’t matter. All lives matter!”

“You!” adds Brissette, pointing at a protester. “You look like a little pansy-ass piece of sh*t.”

Brissette then began coughing dramatically into the protesters’ faces and taunting them as they swatted him away: “Oh, I’m so scared of your f**king virus.”

In a GoFundMe campaign, Brissette claims to be the victim: “On Saturday 10/10/20 I was attacked by BLM protesters in Kanab Utah.  I now have legal issues do to this. .. What happened I was pumping gas had my Trump flag on my truck. Some other random guy Rolled Coal from his truck on some BLM/Biden people that were on the corner. Every one around me was laughing. Two of the protesters threw rocks at me. I went to confront them and was totally verbally attacked. So without touching anyone I called out the BLM at this point someone started recording it. During my rant two women hit me. And now I’m being charged with starting it.  I need help to clear my name against these race baiting protesters.”

Brissette added: “The BLM member has made a video go viral. And it only show me calling them out. It does not show 1st 5 mins were I was being assaulted with rocks and verbal attacks. Also there is a video show me go after a guy but it starts after he messed with my truck while I was in the gas station. I’m getting charged with 5 different crimes and my reputation trashed. help me to combat these people.”

The video first appeared on Reddit, where users noted that Brissette set a land speed record at El Mirage, a land speed racing track in California, after his son’s death.

Anthony Anderson Explains the Significance of ‘Black-ish’ Season 7 Return

Published

By

“Extra’s” Nate Burleson spoke with actors Anthony Anderson and Marcus Scribner as they promoted the Season 7 return of “Black-ish.”

Anderson commented on why it was more important than ever to have this fall premiere. He said, “I felt it was the wrong move to have us be a mid-season replacement just in light of the protests, police brutality, the election. The optics of the show being moved to a mid-season as opposed to premiering in the fall would seem as if our voices were being muted when in a time like this they need to be amplified.”

Nate also spoke with Marsai Martin and Miles Brown about what’s to come on the show. Watch!

“Black-ish” airs Wednesday nights on ABC.

5 Christmas Horror Movies – From the Sublime to the Ridiculous

Published

on

By

It’s Christmas time, and Krampus is coming to town to scare everyone who hasn’t gotten into the holiday spirit. And while the idea of mixing comfort and joy with jolts and screams might seem unusual, there’s a proud tradition of Yuletide scares.

So if your idea of a holiday hero is Jack Skellington rather than George Bailey, here’s a list of five entertaining horror movies that will bring an extra chill to your December. (For a more complete list of scary, funny, exciting, sad, and pretty much every other kind of holiday movie, check out my book Have Yourself a Movie Little Christmas.)

In this fiendishly funny and frightening Finnish import, an excavation team makes a mysterious discovery while a young boy researches Santa Claus, only to discover that the old man is a fearsome legend who exists to punish naughty children. As strange events begin occurring around town, the boy fears that the diggers have uncovered Santa’s resting place, and that the man in the red suit plans to exact a hideous revenge.

Forget every other film you’ve ever seen about a serial killer who gets turned into a homicidal snowman: this one’s the real deal. Stemming from a genuinely ludicrous concept, this story about a prisoner whose DNA mixes with experimental acid in the Snowman Capitol of America finds the humorous in the horrific, and vice versa. Keep an eye out for a pre–American Pie Shannon Elizabeth, who turns up to get assaulted by the titular monster. (Not to be confused with the Michael Keaton movie of the same name – that one’s arguably even creepier.)

Quibi’s Demise Spurs Hand-Wringing for TV Partners

Published

on

By

When CBS News launched a new version of its popular “60 Minutes” for Quibi earlier this year, it was seen as a much-needed way to extend a venerable TV brand into the media venues younger viewers covet. The six-minute “60 in 6” featured an array of new correspondents and tackled QAnon, race relations and more.

Now CBS faces the prospect of keeping the show going with another partner or under its own steam.

The demise of Quibi, the short-form video service led by Jeffrey Katzenberg and Meg Whitman, will cause complications for a wide range of TV partners who supplied new and often innovative programming to the streaming upstart, which promised to deliver top-quality entertainment in episodes that would last ten minutes or less. NBC News, the BBC,  Steven Spielberg, Guillermo del Toro, Kevin Hart, Queen Latifah and Chrissy Teigen were among the popular actors and media entities that latched on to the venture.

Several programming partners were unable to provide immediate comment on what Quibi’s end meant for their work, including Blumhouse, which has produced horror series for Quibi. A spokesman for “60 Minutes” was not able to make executives available for comment, but two people familiar with the show’s Quibi offshoot say they have seen indications from top producers that their efforts are valued and that CBS News intends to find a way to keep the program going.  “Some of the correspondents who were hired for this ’60 in 6’ show may one day work on the Sunday show,” Bill Owens, the executive producer of  “60 Minutes,” told Variety in March.  Approximately 30 people staff “60 in 6.”

NBC News did not offer immediate comment on what might happen to those productions after Quibi shuts down. A BBC spokesman was also not able to offer immediate comment.

Others expressed confusion. One studio, which is currently producing multiple series with Quibi, has heard nothing from the company, according to a person familiar with the matter, and executives remain unclear on the future of its shows, at least one of which was picked up for a second season.

Some may look to craft other alliances. CBS Studios intends to shop the Liam Hemsworth and Christoph Waltz high-proflie action series “Most Dangerous Game,” to other venues. Quibi had renewed it for a second season prior to folding.

Meanwhile, Matt Rogers, host of Quibi’s “Gayme Show,” posted a series of tweets noting he originally pitched the show to Netflix,  and said that he’s “enthusiastic about taking (‘Gayme Show’) elsewhere.” In  each episode of the series, two contestants who identify as straight vie with a celebrity “life partner” while squaring off against a series of challenges.   Quibi had previously renewed “Gayme Show” for a second season but Rogers’ comments suggest that  the series has run out of time in Quibi’s very short corporate cycle.
