Game of Thrones stars model face masks, cut hair, land sci-fi movies, and more

Game of Thrones stars are keeping busy helping the less fortunate, landing new gigs, modeling high-fashion face masks, and geeking over their own Funkos.

Today in celebrities, Game of Thrones are out there modeling good behavior, starting with Lena Headey (Cersei), who’s using her time giving haircuts to homeless people as part of Haircuts For Homeless UK.

Perhaps everyone’s getting the classic Cersei Lannister pixie cut!

Meanwhile, Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) has been strutting her fashion stuff with some Dior face masks. Do we even want to know how much they cost? I’m afraid to ask.

If anyone can make face masks look good, it’s Maisie Williams.

Completely unrelated to Williams’ face mask photoshoot, here’s a picture of her as a wee little baby. How adorable is she?!

And if you can’t make a mask fashion, at least make it effective. John Bradley West (Samwell Tarly) posted a picture of himself wearing a mask underneath a face shield. Double points for Sam for taking COVID-19 seriously!

With Game of Thrones behind him, Bradley is looking ahead to a new project. According to Deadline, he’ll star alongside Stanley Tucci, Halle Berry, Patrick Wilson and Charlie Plummer in Liongate’s Moonfall, about a mysterious force that knocks the moon out of its orbit and sets it on a collision course with Earth.

Bradley working with the likes of Stanley Tucci and Halle Berry…Our boy Samwell has come a long way! And he isn’t the only one lining up new gigs. Per Deadline, Kristofer Hivju (Tormund) is all set to star in Distant, a movie about an asteroid miner abandoned on an alien planet. These Game of Thrones guys LOVE their sci-fi, don’t they?

Okay, let’s take a break from the movies to bring you this very adorable picture of Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (the Mountain) and his new baby. Oh my, our fluttering hearts–how adorable is this?!

This is far and away the least intimidating the Mountain has ever looked!

Elsewhere, the Mother of Dragons Emilia Clarke has teamed up with Tribeca and Chanel for the Tribeca Chanel Women’s Filmmaker program, joining the likes of Glenn Close, Yara Shahidi, Kristen Stewart and many others.

Tribeca and CHANEL come together in support of women in film. Through Her Lens, The Tribeca CHANEL Women’s Filmmaker Program, in collaboration with Pulse Films, promotes emerging and independent voices. From funding and project support to dedicated mentorship, this multi-faceted 3-day program champions up-and-coming women writers and directors in the United States. With guidance from Tribeca, one of the country’s most engaged and respected supporters of women writers and directors, THL helps foster these vital voices in their professional and artistic development. Over the course of the program, our mentors assist talent to refine and present their short film concepts to the film industry, and ultimately select one of their projects to fund and produce.

Last but certainly not least, we leave you with Gemma Whelan enjoying her very own Yara Greyjoy Funko:

It’s got to be such a hoot to see yourself in Funko form.

Madam Satan Traps the Devil in This Exclusive ‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ Preview

If you’re anxiously waiting for the final part of Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, here’s something that should help tide things over a little: Archie Comics is releasing a special one-shot comic book set in the world of the show titled Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Presents: Madam Satan. And as a bonus, you don’t even need to wait until the comic is released on Wednesday, October 21, as we’ve got an exclusive look inside, right here.

Michelle Gomez’s Madam Satan is rightly a fan-favorite. From her pitch perfect line-delivery, to angular cheekbones and smoldering chemistry with certain other cast members (#MadamSpellman for life), the woman sometimes known as Ms. Wardwell makes it look good to be bad. She’s also — as the name indicates — sometimes the bride of Satan, aka Lilith. And briefly, between Seasons 1 and 2, she was the de facto queen of Hell.

That’s where this one-shot picks up… Sort of. Like with the upcoming Riverdale Presents: Southside Serpents one-shot coming in January, these books exist in a half-way point between the series and the comic books, not contradicting the continuity of the shows; but not necessarily existing in any particular place during the series, either.

To that end, the pages below, with art by Julius Ohta, Matt Herms, and Jack Morelli, give the sense of Gomez and her hellish environs, but also capture the look artist Robert Hack established with the original, critically acclaimed Chilling Adventures of Sabrina comic he created with writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

“Maybe I’m projecting here because of this times we live in, but this story is about the kind of isolation that comes with power and hate,” writer Eliot Rahal told Decider via statement provided by Archie Comics. “It’s a character study about someone who needs to be loved, but does not love back. It’s about fulfillment, naked desire, and a personal Hell set in Hell. And the art . . . it’s heavenly. It’s once again proof that horror is tasteful. That horror is beautiful. That horror is art, and not some cheap thrill ride that so many people unfortunately associate with the genre.”

Check out the solicit text below, info provided to comic shops in order to spur on sales, and check out the exclusive pages, as well. And perhaps while you’re doing that, some of those dark feelings about Netflix not releasing the final part of CAOS in October will disappear, magically.

One Tree Hill is returning to screens at the end of October

One Tree Hill seasons 1-9 will begin streaming in the UK on All 4 from October 30.

Starring Chad Michael Murray, Sophia Bush, James Lafferty, Bethany Joy Lenz and Hilarie Burton, the North Carolina-set drama centres on half-brothers Nathan (a basketball prodigy) and Lucas Scott (a less talented player) whose frayed relationship worsens with the introduction of the former’s girlfriend, Peyton Sawyer.

With a total of 187 episodes, One Tree Hill is The CW’s fourth-longest-running title behind Supernatural, 7th Heaven and Smallville.

But that’s not all folks, because joining One Tree Hill on the streaming platform in all of its seven-season glory from tomorrow (October 21) is acclaimed political drama The West Wing.

Head of series acquisitions Nick Lee said about the exciting additions: All eyes turn to the West Wing over the next few weeks and so there could not be a more fitting time to bring this giant of a show to All 4.

He added: “Proving that teen romance and sibling rivalries can be just as gripping as Capitol Hill, One Tree Hill will also slam dunk onto the platform in its entirety.

“Bringing these two major hits, alongside Malcolm in the Middle which landed on October 2, we have risen to a new high in the quality of our line-up. Happy streaming!”
